Boomtown 1925: Cast Photo 1920's: The population of Detroit boomed as people moved to Detroit to work in the auto factories. People of all races, creeds, and religions moved into a neighborhood in Southwest Detroit called Delray. They lived together, worked together, and formed friendships becoming the only neighborhood in Detroit to not be segragated. Through the years, Delray has remained this way, and still is today. Boomtown 1925 is an original play, researched and written for 16 months by Matrix Theatre Company's Collective Playwrights, and performed for two months to many sold out houses in March and April of 2005.
