are an extremely valuable part of Matrix Theatre Company. Our volunteers
work with our programs, in our offices, and at our performances. If you'd

BOX
OFFICE
These
volunteers will be running the Box Office for the Company's main stage
theatre season at the Matrix Theatre.
Job
Duties: Set
up lobby for guests; Selling of tickets and maintaining of Box Office
receipts to be turned into the Company at the end of each performance
(Cash only)
Qualifications:
Some math ability; attention to detail; excellent communication and
people skills
USHERS
These
volunteers will be ushering for the Company's main stage theatre season
at The Matrix Theatre.
Job
Duties: Arrive at theatre one and a half hours before scheduled
performance time; Set up lobby for guests; Clean seating area of debris
before and after performances; Assemble programs; Hand out programs
to guests as they go to the seating area; Add chairs if necessary &
take them down at the end of performance
Qualifications:
An enthusiasm for the performing arts; excellent people and communication
skills; self-motivated
ARCHIVING
OF PHOTOGRAPHS
These
volunteers will be working in the Company's offices during business
hours to find all of Matrix Theatre Company's photographs and index/archive
them into one location.
Job
Duties: Collect all photographs (digital and print); Sort through
the photographs and discard any that are unusable; Index photographs
using the standards that will be provided
Qualifications:
Attention to detail
CURRENT
SHOW ARCHIVIST
These
volunteers will work with the productions as they develop to create
an archive copy of the script and all information on the program.
Job
Duties: Collect information from program contacts
Qualifications:
Attention to detail; ability to work independently
DATABASE
MAINTENANCE (THIS IS AN ADVANCED POSITION)
This volunteer
will be working in the Company's offices during business hours on The
Matrix Theatre Company database.
Job
Duties: Identify all tables, queries, forms and reports; Label all
tables, queries, forms and reports correctly (using standards provided);
generate and maintain the Company's database; Adding information to
database; Generate mailing labels, thank you letters, and other contact
information as needed
Qualifications:
Highly Competent with Microsoft Access; Detailed oriented
FOLLOW
UP CALLER
This volunteer
will be working in the Company's offices during business hours to call
people who've signed up to volunteer within one week of their signing
up.
Job
Duties: Call potential volunteers to get their information and find
out what they'd be interested in volunteering for; Transfer this information
to the Volunteer Coordinator
Qualifications:
Attention to detail, excellent communication skills
MAILINGS
These
volunteers will be working in the Company's offices during business
hours preparing our mailings approximately 10 times a year. When we
are doing mailings, we'd like to schedule 3 people for 6 hours per day,
for 3 days initially. (This could change after our initial mailings).
Job
Duties: Prepare mailings to send out, including applying mailing
labels, folding, stuffing envelopes.
Qualifications:
Must be able to work in the Company offices during business hours
PROPERTIES
COLLECTOR
These
volunteers will be collecting properties for the main stage productions
as needed.
Job
Duties: Collect, maintain, return and store props for production
Qualifications:
Attention to detail; ability to work independently
PUPPET
PERFORMERS
These
volunteers will learn how to work the Company puppets and perform with
them when performances are scheduled.
Job
Duties: Learn how to work puppets; work puppets for performances
Qualifications:
Older teens or adults
SHOW
CREWS
These
volunteers will be working on various aspects for productions as needed.
Potential
Job Duties: Load-in sets, lighting, puppets, costumes, props, front
of house information for productions; Load-out same (see above)
Qualifications:
Some experience in crew position preferred; ability to take direction
as well as problem-solving skills
SPECIAL
EVENTS VOLUNTEER
These
volunteers will be at special events doing work as needed per event.
Job
Duties: Organizing and running aspects of special events with the
Matrix Staff.
Qualifications:
A willingness to complete projects.
