On Stage at Matrix Theatre

For 30 years, Matrix Theatre Company has produced "Theatre that Matters."

The professional Matrix Theatre seeks to create socially-conscious theatre that engages its audiences through the introduction of new thoughts, ideas, and dialogues. It is our objective to produce high-quality, professional theatre that aims to begin and/or further issue-based conversations and build upon the sense of community that will strengthen society’s resolve toward social justice.

Our award-winning work has included productions of world and Michigan premieres of contemporary plays, original works written by the Matrix Writers Circle, modern classics with timeless themes, and more. We often partner with other individuals and organizations in our community on Matrix productions so that audiences are able to engage with each production's themes more deeply. These partnerships have resulted in fun and educational post-show events, audience's increased access to live theatre and its artists, donation drives, and other opportunities and exchanges.
